Prj: Windmill
The Windmill project took place during the early semesters of the 3D degree. This project was aimed to develop core skills by allowing the student to create their own project brief. I chose to model an environment feature which is the windmill. The windmill was specifically chosen as I could improve on exteriors, outdoor lighting and ambient animations in landscapes. Overall, I had a great time discovering modelling and texturing techniques which would carry onto my future projects.

Development
The early development was to sketch out and plan the appearance of the windmill. I envisioned the structure to be stylized, worn out, and had exaggerated features - similar to fantasy medieval housing. After many rough sketches and ideas, I combined those features and drew out a final look and feel of how the overall environment would result.

3D Modelling
The modelling stage was challenging but very enjoyable. With the guidance of a great mentor, I was able to achieve the look I was trying to go for, and more. Although most of the assets were duplicated, the complexity of structure in the windmill builds great depth. Paired with textures that were tediously placed, the result was a great first impression for an introduction to 3D.
